Who we are

One Star Development Society (OSDS) is a registered non-governmental organization (NGO) based in Dhubri, Assam, dedicated to the holistic development of marginalized and vulnerable communities.

Established under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860, OSDS was founded with a clear mission — to uplift socially, economically, educationally, and medically deprived populations, particularly those living below the poverty line.

We work at the grassroots level, focusing on SC, ST, OBC, MOBC, tribal communities, women, children, elderly persons, transgender individuals, and persons with disabilities who often face exclusion and limited access to opportunities.

Our Identity

We are:

  • A community-based development organization

  • A non-political and non-profit institution

  • A grassroots implementation partner

  • A facilitator of government welfare schemes

  • A platform for empowerment and rehabilitation

Our strength lies in our close connection with rural communities and our ability to implement impactful programs directly where they are needed most.

What Drives Us

India’s rural and remote populations continue to face challenges such as poverty, lack of healthcare access, unemployment, gender inequality, child vulnerability, and social neglect.
